Stud Gun Setup Guide for Insulation Pins Heavy Duty

Follow these step-by-step instructions to properly set up your stud gun to weld insulation pins. This set up is helpful for welding many pins and power plant work. The collet lasts longer and is more ideal for industrial applications.

This setup works for Truweld, Proweld, Midwest Fasteners, Erico, H.A. Jones, and SWS stud welder guns.

STEP 1 - Insert collet into gun.


Install hybrid collet in gun shaft and tighten set screws.

STEP 2 - Make the foot assembly

Screw the CD legs on to the CD Foot.  The 7" legs will work for insulation pins up to 6" in length.  The 12" legs will work for insulation pins up to 11".

STEP 3 - Install the Spark Shield

Install thes park shield in the foot with the allen screw that is in the bottom of the foot.

STEP 4 - Assemble the stud gun

Slide the foot piece into face plate.  Adjust so that 1/8" of the pin is sticking out past the spark shield and tighten the set screws in the face plate.
